Sunlight Through Windows
Slowly passing summer’s beginning
never pausing or varying my track
Tilting more toward the sun
through the blackness of space
I travel the course without feeling
the only sense of where I am is by
Following sunlight through windowsStellar light is cast upon me
I bask in it’s depth and warmth
All that is depends on my movement
Even as I appear to change course
back to the outer reaches of where I began
Unvarying, never pausing, always there
As if I am spinning in deep groovesJuly 1, 2010

Ancient light from distant stars – makes me pause. Even the sun’s light is slightly old by the time it reaches us… maybe that’s why it is yellow (aged?) hehe! Have a good Saturday!
No sunlight here, today (alas). Love the idea of sunlight “grounding” itself in the window. (smiles) perhaps tomorrow. Hope you are well.
@murisopsis - At every season change I look skyward and wonder these things. Indeed its speed and what direction it is moving in relation to us does determine its color. Doppler was right. maybe older light is yellow, Heh!
@SandraErickson - Hi Sandra! Long time no see, thank you for the rec. Hope you have sunshine tomorrow. Yes, as the seasons change, and as the Earth tilts with each, the sunshine cast through our windows constantly change and shines at different angles and we can track the Earth’s movement through space. I wanted to write something on how the Earth itself see and determines it’s position in space. Thought it would be fun to personify the Earth and have it see the sunshine angles the same way we humans do, through windows.
I love the deep grooves. nice : )
@bels-kaylar – thanks for the rec, Kim. – I think that’s your name? artist-poet one.
Sunlight through the window has always been a comfort to me, especially when you sit right in the rays beaming through the window!
@Iamsurrounded - this didn’t show up on my page so i missed it. oddly or not, here i am looking for all those names you use, and you refer to my name, in the one i started my search with
yes, i am kim. same last name as sandra, which is why you may see us refer to each other as cousin (although not related. except through the love of poetry
