  • Improper Order

    Why do I hesitate?
putting words in the improper order
    syllables uncounted
    spelling uncorrected
dreaming of the moon the clouds the good the wonder
    daring to say it
the beauty of the mind set free

  • i can just hear the chorus of xanga poets now “ohhhhhh….” in recognition of that feeling :)  the writers too, but i feel it so intensely in the poems, so little space, every word has a weight, a rhythm, a vowel sound, how to get it all down?  (even yesterday’s piece that i finally finished after about 5 hours, still needs work. but deadlines are drifting nearer…)  ok. off to work on a flash ;)

  • hmmmm…there are many reasons to hesitate  (smiles) and none of them have to do with grammar. It is quite the conundrum, though, isn’t it: the drive to create and the fear of the creation.

    the power
    of the written word:
    If you say
    too little
or tell all, there’s no diff’rence:
    the truth is revealed.

and this is why god created protected posts and friend’s lock…and the “private” button.  Yes, it is. HEH.

  • @Bels_Kaylar - Oh! (laughing) I have your flash for you right here! Heh. Hey, and thanks for the phantom rec on yesterday’s (already retired) post. MUAH.

  • @SandraErickson - i’m sorry, dear one, i was in tears at the end and could not speak. i was going to come back. argh. you captured the girl so well, that i missed mine too much, all of a sudden. gah. oxoooooo

  • @Bels_Kaylar - yes, I know; it was a melancholy day of missing for me, as well. sometimes it is like that.  the rain, the words, the date all conspire…I hope the sun is shining for you (and in your heart) today. MUAH, cuzin. <3

  • I can say it is not often my problem – the hesitation. Words are playthings and I am sometimes selfish and don’t want to share my toys…

  • @Bels_Kaylar - Thank you so very much for the rec.
Add deadlines and I purposely drag my feet. No deadlines are allowed here.Honor comes with the overdue.

  • @murisopsis - LoL! I have heard song writers say that their biggest hits took only minutes to write. They didn’t hesitate and just wrote it down. I do share your love of playing with words. But you share your work everyday Val, and I’m am glad you do, I promise I won’t break any of your toys.

  • @SandraErickson - You are so right, words last for a very long time, we all try to get them right, thank goodness for the edit button. My protected posts are cluttered. I think it is impressions that we leave, a long read can leave as big of an impression as a short one.
Thank you for the recommend Sandra!
