Late Reminisce
Months have passed with no word from you
You chose your book, the book you view
no said good byes, no scented note
no handshakes or good-byes were wrote
Now home is lost and you return,
to watch the blazing fires burn.
And sift through ashes and reminisce
proclaim your love for those you miss
The time’s too late to reach and save
to pull your home from the grave
Too late to kiss, or to gently hug
The time to save … was before the graves were dug.

goodness. now there’s a poem. well done! (back story?? asks the curious cat
(btw, i left you my poem in reply to your comment on my last post. thank you, too.)
Awesome reflection on xanga! I hope the people that baled will at least come visit. I’m hopeful that xanga will come through!
@Bels_Kaylar - The back story for the poem,…. i guess what I’m saying here is this. The last couple weeks since the news about Xanga, I’m seeing a lot of friends posting that haven’t been here for months, discussing the past and the future of Xanga. But I know that most have been frequenting FB, “You chose your book, the book you view”. Face Book has hurt Xanga greatly, friends have left here in droves, only posting ocassionally. Now they are also posting on WordPress even before we see if Xanga will be able to rebuild there. Our community has been burning for the last year or so. Now the ones that left are back to try to pull Xanga from the grave, I say a little late, “The time to save … was before the graves were dug”.
Thanks for commenting, I love hearing from you and enjoy your work greatly. Thanks for posting the poem here, even in the rely, I’ll comment over there over there. Thanks Kim.
IMHO but I’m glad they are back. And I hope they continue in the community on what ever platform Xanga ends up on. It’s worth saving and I think it still has some unique features that other Blog platforms don’t.
Now this reply was E speaking, DSS just had to say it in a more poetic way.
@Iamsurrounded - interesting. and thank you, for explaining. i love both explanations. believe me, i want xanga to survive, absolutely. but. i don’t even know where to begin. as i said in post before that non-poem one, i paid for premium but only have ‘free’ platform, so to speak. and no help in sight. or in site
i agree, xanga has things that no one else has. i wish others would take lessons from xanga. except the being invisible to clients
bottom line, i hope i can keep in touch with you, too. f.b., or here, or where ever you land.
To begin to help would be to stay here faithful to the end. Simply post like we have always been posting. Try to avoid the evil empire of FB. It is killing us. even the Xanga team uses it. they should be competitors not colaborators with FB. its like ford advertising for chevy. madness, madness. :.
Thanks for the rec! just saw it. :p
@murisopsis - I’m so glad you got it! I was afraid I may have made it too abstract. I prefer expressing things more poetically than politically.
thanks for the rec!
